February Meeting Reminder

Greetings! It’s officially the shortest month of the year, although it often seems like the longest! The groundhog saw his shadow – or did he? I don’t know, but winter is still here and spring is still a few weeks away.

What is only a couple of days away is the first Tuesday of February. That means that the Decatur Amateur Radio Club is having its first monthly meeting of this year (since we canceled the January meeting). We will meet in our regular location (the basement of the Morgan County Courthouse in Decatur) at the regular time (7:30 pm). Please be a few minutes early. Security has increased at the courthouse since the last time we met there, and we cannot hold the door open for just anyone!

The new president, Mike Findlay KD4TGC, and the new vice-president Steve Vibbert KD2KAG will be presiding over their first meeting. Former president Craig McClure KJ4LAA has told us that he will give a presentation about the project to repair and rebuild the 146.98 repeater on Trinity Mountain.

And one more important thing: your dues for 2019 need to be paid. Please come to the meeting with your $15.00 (and $5.00 for each additional family member). If you can’t make the meeting, please mail your payment to DARC, PO Box 9, Decatur, AL 35602-0009.

One sad announcement is that former member Archie Hampton AC4GO passed away last week at the age of 92. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Lastly (for now), please note that the club’s website is moving! We are shortening the address and updating the look. Check out www.w4atd.org and let us know what you think. Any helpful suggestions (or volunteers!) are welcome!

See you on Tuesday evening!
