ARRL Field Day 2023 Official Results

The Field Day 2023 results have finally been posted on the ARRL website.  They are also printed in the December issue of QST magazine. It was another very good event.

Our club’s score this year reflected an improvement to a level similar to prior years. Our score was consistent with the 2021 results, which was much better than Field Day 2022.  We made a great effort in our new location at Flint City Park in Decatur, and we had fun doing it!

Here’s the breakdown of the results:

  • Out of 4,445 entries overall, W4ATD was #815.
  • Out of 65 entries in the AL Section, W4ATD was #12.
  • Out of 308 Class 2A entries overall, W4ATD was #123.
  • Out of 11 Class 2A entries in the AL Section, W4ATD was #4.

As always, we could have done even better with greater participation. Many thanks to the 32 folks who showed up, even if it was only to talk and keep others occupied. Special thanks go to Byron N4AX for the 101 CW contacts he made, and to Lou K4HNH who set up and manned the GOTA station that netted 47 additional SSB contacts. Thanks also to Bob KB4ACP for the excellent food he provided and prepared for us. Overall we did very well, staying about our usual level among class 2A stations overall and especially in our state.

NOW . . . .

Repeat after me: we’re going to be better next year! Field Day 2024 will the 4th full weekend of June, as always, which is June 22nd and 23rd. Make plans to be there and help out!
