DARC July 2025 Meeting Reminder – It’s CANCELED

Greetings! June is over. July is here. So is the summer heat and the pop-up storms.

And Field Day 2025 is over. Done. Packed up and stored away until next June. And some people desperately need some well-deserved sleep!

Since Field Day was this last weekend, and July 4th is coming up on Friday, the club has canceled the July meeting. Please don’t go to the courthouse unless you’d like to talk to some great law enforcement people who would be understandably curious. And please don’t travel out to Libby’s unless you’re hungry for some good food without our good companionship.

This canceled meeting will NOT be streamed on Microsoft Teams for obvious reasons. You can try to log in, but don’t get too frustrated when it won’t work.

The license testing session for July, normally scheduled for the 1st Saturday of the month, has also been canceled due to the Decatur Library being closed on July 5th. We will resume testing on Saturday, August 2nd.

Our 72nd consecutive Field Day event was great! We had a great turnout and a good number of contacts. Many thanks to Brian Tenniswood W1WC, Chris Roger KB3A, and Joe Betterton KQ4WAY for the radio and antenna setups. Bob Flautt KB4ACP kept everyone from getting hungry or thirsty. And many others showed up to help, to make and log contacts, and to enjoy being around ham radio. All that’s left now is to dry everything off, rest up a bit, and submit the scoring to the ARRL.

Check out the roster of current club members at www.HamClubOnline.com. Set up your free account and if you have paid your dues (and the Secretary has updated the database) you should see that you’re associated with the DARC. If there’s an issue, let us know.

Our next club meeting will be on Tuesday evening, August 5th, 2024, at the Morgan County Courthouse at 6:30! Put it on your calendar and don’t be late!

Have a great July. Stay cool and radio-active!
