DARC Meeting Time Survey

Over the last couple of years, members (both current and former) have commented that the 7:30pm meeting time for our monthly club meetings is a bit late in the day. If the meeting includes unusual discussions or an interesting program, we are sometimes in the courthouse well past 9:00pm, which causes issues with some of the members and with the EMA personnel who have to stay with us in the building. Some former members have not renewed memberships or attended any meetings because of the late time.

Changing the meeting time would technically require amending the club bylaws, which states that the meetings are to be held at 7:30pm on the first Tuesday of the month. That adjustment will likely be the subject of a meeting later this year. There is a specific procedure for amending the by-laws which will be followed.

The club officers would like input from the current and former membership and from others associated with the club about a preferred meeting time. We have heard 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00pm as being possibilities.

Please answer this email or send a message to the club secretary or any of the other officers with your comments and suggestions. This is an informal survey. There are no wrong answers. A written answer is more easily recorded and tabulated once it is received.

We’d genuinely like to make an adjustment that best meets the needs and desires of the most people in the club and furthers opportunities for the club to grow beyond the 69 years that we have already existed.

Thank you! We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
