FIELD DAY 2022 IS HERE!
For the 69th consecutive year the Decatur Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the annual ARRL Field Day event. Our club callsign is W4ATD, and radio propagation conditions are forecast to be much better than in the past few years. Hopefully we’ll have that callsign in a lot of logs in many other places by the end of the event. We need all available hams to come out and support the effort – and have FUN at the same time!
Setup will begin at 9:00 Saturday morning. We have reserved Pavilion A at Delano Park in Decatur near the tennis courts off of Gordon Drive SE. Google is your friend in this case if you need directions. Or just call out on the 147.00+ repeater (123.0 Hz tone) and we’ll give you directions.
We always need folks to operate the radios at any time, and especially during the early morning hours.
We will have a total of 4 radios running, so there’s plenty of available opportunities to start making contacts. And there’s a lot of other talking that can be done if you just want to come out and be around other amateurs.
Please make plans to stop in, help out, stay a while, and enjoy the opportunity.
And PLEASE bring water or some way to keep yourself hydrated and protected from the heat. It’s going to be HOT!
Hope to see you TOMORROW at Field Day!
